99¢/Discounted comiXology SALES!

I'm sure some of you check Comixology on a regular basis to see what's on sale. Usually they have Marvel Mondays for 99¢ and then a few more at the end of the week, and holidays are also a great time to find some deals. Anyway, I was going to post about this weeks sale, but then I thought, why not start a single thread that can be updated regularly so we don't have to clog the forum with a bunch of threads? I won't be able to always update this so I'm counting on the rest of you to pick up the slack.

Alternatively, I'm hoping that Marvel and DC see how popular these sales are and will begin to think about reducing the cost of our digital books.

I wasn't reading AoA when it came out and I can't get all of it. Which one can you all recommend?

I think Alpha, Omega, & Prime should give you a good overview. I've got those and the Astonishing X-Men in print and I kinda enjoyed all of them (it's been a while). This came out about the time I was getting back into comics and I was just overly confused by the whole alternate universe thing. I did pick up the issues of X-Men: Age of Apocalypse and didn't like them very well. I really got them for the Bachalo art. I hope that helps.

If you've got the Comixology App on your smart phone or tablet, on the main page of the app, the last slide is for a survey that Comixology is having. The survey takes about 10 min. to complete, and when you complete it, they ask for your email so that they can send you a "surprise free comic!" The survey told me they would email a code sometime in January. Anyway, I think this would be a great opportunity for us to let Comixology know who we are and what we like. I specifically told them that I want digital comic prices to be lowered to $0.99. I don't buy any digital comic that is full price. Here's your chance to let Comixology know your deepest darkest thought (and get a free comic to boot!). As far as I know it looks as though the survey option is only available through the app and not from the main internet site. I saw a banner for the survey but then refreshed and it was gone. You can try this link, but I'm not sure if it's one use only.

  • Did the survey on my laptop today. Last few months I've really gotten into digital comics. Never thought I would see that happen. And the reat job Comixology does at delivering the product is the reason why.

So 12 days are over, did you get them all? Any standouts? Are you going to keep going with any titles?

Edit: I realized I hadn't said my peace. For some reason I missed the Strangers in Paradise. I updated the post here and then forgot to go back and "purchase" it. Nothing really stood out to me yet (I haven't read all of them). I was interested in the AvX issue as I never picked up the event becaues I wasn't going to let Marvel manipulate me again. Not enough to make me stick with it. I own Day's 2-6 in print and if I'm getting those, I'm getting them in print. I'm interested in the checking out the rest.

Unfortunately, I won't be getting them digitally unless the price is at least $0.99. $1.99 should be the price point for digital books (or better yet, $0.99, but then what would the sales look like?) and with how many comics I get, I can't justify full price unless they're in print. That way if I can't ever sell them I can at lease donate them and get the tax write-off.

Archer & Armstrong and Multiple Warheads are definite keepers for me. Will keep getting those.

Thinking about getting Red Son, as well as Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman: Trinity. Never read either of those.

I got Trinity from the library, but I don't think I was ever able to get to it. Red Son was an Else Worlds ton o' fun.

I was looking at Scarlet Spider as I've heard some buzz. Anyone have any thoughts?

Also, these sales are good for another 10 days (ends 12/30). So it's not too late to get some gifted to you for Christmas!
  • I bought and read #1 Birthright. Liked it so I'll now get the rest, 11 issues.
  • Bought Red Son and Avengers Children Crusade! Pretty excited I've heard great things about both series!!
